1) PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD OPEN UNTIL JULY 11 2024
Cai Creek logging plans have been posted to the BC Forest Operations Map:

2) TIPS FOR COMMENTING ON THE CAI LOGGING PLANS

Tips for commenting:

  • Provide your full name and address.
  • Comment in your own words. Do not copy and paste.
  • Provide your qualifications.
    – Are you a forester or have you worked in forestry?
    – Are you a biologist? Have you studied foresty ecology?
    – Do you have a professional designation?
  • Clearly state if you support or oppose the cutblock.
    – e.g. “I do not support the TA2185-3 cutblock”
    – e.g. “I strongly object to the cutblock in Cai Creek – no support”
  • Use the BC Timber Sales cutblock number TA2185-3
  • Focus only on the cutblock(s), the specific logging plans, and this location. Reference other areas if you think it provides helpful context.
  • Share how you’ve experience Cai Creek.
    – Have you hiked to Lt. Dan? How many times have you hiked Cai Creek?
    – Do you use the ATV trail? Do you hunt in Cai Creek?
    – Can you see Cai Creek from your home?
  • Tell BC Timber Sales how the Cai Creek logging will impact you and why you object to the logging plans.
    – Will the logging impact your recreation? Your view?
    – Should BC still be logging intact watersheds?
  • Tell BC Timber Sales how the logging will impact Cai Creek.
    – If you have been to Cai Creek and know the forest, share your observations.
    – e.g. the logging will destroy established game trails and watering locations for elk.
    – Locations are important – provide GPS waypoints.
